A cool morning verandah: an ivory wall, teak pillars, a brass uruli with floating flowers, and banana leaves and palms in the mist beyond.

A waitlist for slower weekends

Old homes. Slow weekends.

Traditional South Indian farm stays near Bengaluru, and small gatherings for people who read, write and wonder.

What is Waynest

Not every farm stay feels like home.

  1. Every home is visited in person. If we wouldn't stay, we don't list it.

  2. Old houses with real character: courtyards, tiled roofs, red-oxide floors.

  3. Unhurried by design. No itineraries. Just time.

The homes

Where you’ll stay.

First homes open to the waitlist before anyone else.

Gatherings

Small rooms. Big conversations.

Every month, our homes host small gatherings for curious people. Never more than twenty. Phones in a basket.

Trolley problems by lantern light. Bring your best argument.

    Evening · 16–20 people

  • Supper Club of Ideas

A banana-leaf dinner, one big question per course.

  • Close Reading Circle

One poem. Ninety minutes. More than you'd think.

    Afternoon · 10–14 people

  • Monsoon Reading Retreat

Rain on a tiled roof, a stack of books, and very little else.

    Weekend · 10–12 people

The reading room

One book a day, chosen for a slow weekend.

A new one every morning. Or ask for another; the shelf is generous.

From the shelf

Siddhartha

Hermann Hesse

A slow walk toward understanding, perfect for a weekend. Short enough to finish by Sunday.

A thought for the verandah

“The greatest thing in the world is for a man to know that he is his own.”

Michel de MontaigneOf Solitude (tr. Charles Cotton, 1685)
